American Ranch Horse Assoc. Scholarship Deadline: Dec 31
American Ranch Horse Association youth members who plan to attend a college or trade school next year are invited to apply for a $500 academic based scholarship for the 2010-2011 school year. October's Winner Is:
CHARLIE WALKER of INDIANA
Our October Mystery Photo is Dick Sheley of Ohio. Dick is the gentleman we all recognize that checks us in as we enter the arena to compete in the speed classes at the Quarter Horse Congress each October. This particular picture was taken of Dick riding a two-year old named Mr Royal Bar B Twist. “Chip” was sired by Dick’s 2-Time
Congress Champion stallion, Royal Bar B Twist or “Andy.” The picture was taken at the 1978 Indiana Barrel Racing Futurity (read about this year’s futurity in this issue.) The Futurity was held at different arenas over the years and in 1978 it was held at the home of Leroy Covey in Westfield, IN. Thanks to Dick’s daughter, LeeAnne for submitting this picture of her dad. I am sure it brings back memories for many!
If you know, or think you know who is in this photo, send your answer(s) to us! You never know, you might just win! This month, the winner will receive a one year subscription to The Horse Resource Magazine.
